In this video, I hope you learn to try yet another interesting mode that is not new at all, but may be brand new to you. Check out SSTV, (Slow Scan TeleVision), to send and receive images all over the world with a very simple setup. In this video I will demonstrate it on the free to download software on the PC, and the Android app on my smartphone using my Wolphilink to my HF radio for transmit. You can also use a signalink or other digi interface to send and receive.
This video attempts to explain and demonstrate how to setup your own AllStar and EchoLink node up at home
Produced with CyberLink PowerDirector 14
Build a multi-band dipole antenna for HF use on 40-20-15-10-6 meters. Some call this a fan dipole.
This video explores baluns and gives demos. A balun is a device to convert a balanced transmission line to an unbalanced transmission line and vice versa.
N7TFP talks about how to use an antenna tuner to tune an antenna ...
Ask Dave Episode 29 looks at the amateur radio high frequency (HF) bands and describes each. This helps hams new to HF to understand what bands will work best for them. For a PDF copy of the band characteristics chart, go to http://dcasler.com/wp-content/uploads....
As a user of many RT Systems programs over the years I thought it would be helpful to share what I've learned from my personal experience. Feel free to use this at your next amateur radio meeting. Hope you enjoy and find this video useful.
Jim, W6LG, tests RG8X and RG213 for loss. The results are very interesting. Everything goes great until it starts to snow.
Ham Radio TV: How to Measure Coax Loss - Part 2 In this video Kevin N6VLF, will show you how to test your coax.
Is Your Coax Good & The Right Length? https://youtu.be/Z2lxv6F8fvAYou might have a 100 watt or a 50 watt radio, BUT your antenna might only be transmitting 10 watts by the time the signal gets there. The higher the frequency the more loss you will see in your transmissions lines.
The MFJ-269C is so much more than an SWR analyzer. Here is another way it can be used to test coax, and you can see it helped me find a fault in some LMR400 instead of butchering the coax for patch cords.
